William Canty presents an art portfolio development course. This course is designed to help exceptionally talented young artists and students who are planning to audition for the Visual Arts program at the Alabama School of Fine Arts.
A.S.F.A offers students, grades 7-12, a "unique opportunity to explore the frontiers of their own talents". ASFA visual arts students engage in advanced studio work in painting, sculpture and drawing, as well as art history, and digital photography.
In March 2004, two of Mr. Canty's students, Anna Riley and Casey Webber were accepted into the seventh grade at Alabama School of Fine Arts. In March of 2005, two more of WE-C Studio's students, Kelsey Harrison and Mark Roberts were accepted into A.S.F.A. Edwin Revell, Jr and Lily Segal were accepted into the school of Fine Arts in 2006 and Thad Mickler and Justin Elder were accepted in 2007.
This is not a craft or cartoon related course! This course focuses on life drawing, portraits, two dimensional foundation, and water based painting. Each student works on an individualized track in a group setting.
Over the past nine years I have helped over thirty young artist develop their art skills. Allow me to assist your child in developing a strong personalized portfolio and give him or her a basic understanding of technical art techniques and terms. Give your young artist a head start. This course is the challenge that your child needs!
